Bluecloud / Conscious Capital Five Determinants Model

The Five Determinants Model links affordability, tangibility, risk, strategy and human capital to create scalability and systems thinking. To yield a good return, projects must be quickly scalable. The model is dynamic, with all determinants important to varying degrees depending on the context.

Affordability

Successful projects must be affordable to the majority of the population, especially the fastest growing segment: the middle class.

Risk

Political risk is more pronounced in healthcare than in other sectors.

Human Capital

Successful projects must bear this in account. Technology, delegation and moves to attract qualified HP are key.

Tangibility

African markets are relatively underdeveloped, so projects must be visible, measurable and tangible. Preventative projects not linked to a sort of reward will struggle.

Strategy

Better from the ground up. Examples include: Health Store (Kenya) and Equity (Ghana).
